Princess Diana’s Bodyguard, Lee Sansum, Dies at 63 — Family Heartbroken

Lee Sansum, the former royal military police officer who safeguarded Princess Diana and her sons, Princes William and Harry, has tragically passed away at 63 due to a sudden heart attack.

His wife, Kate, shared a heartfelt tribute, describing him as her “soulmate and hero.”

Known for protecting Diana during her 1997 St. Tropez holiday, just weeks before her death, Sansum earned the nickname “Rambo” from the princess and received a personal thank-you note for his service.

His distinguished career also included guarding high-profile figures like Tom Cruise, Sylvester Stallone, and former Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond.

Later, Sansum authored The Bodyguard, where he opened up about his silent struggle with PTSD, even while protecting Diana and her sons.
